Smart will launch its own electric 'scooter' in 2014


The Smart car manufacturer, that belongs to the German automotive group Daimler, will launch to the market in 2014 a 'scooter' powered by electricity, which will be selled under the name of 'eScooter'.
This was announced by Joachim Schmidt, VP of Sales and Marketing of Mercedes-Benz Cars. "With this step, we add an important component to our concept of urban mobility in the future," he explained.
In 2010, Smart revealed at the International Paris Motor their plan to introduce a new range of  electrical products for urban transport  to the market .
The car arrives this summer
 Besides the electric Smart, ieither coupe and convertible versions will be released next summer, also the an electric bike, whose deliveries are beginning.

Like the electric bicycle, the 'scooter' is available to customers without a license. The firm will develop the design of this motorcycle for the next two years.
